What documents do I need to rent a car?

Driving licence requirements and what to bring at handover.

  • A valid driving licence (must have been held for at least 1–2 years)
  • Passport or national identity card
  • A valid credit or debit card for the security deposit

International drivers (non-EU)

If your driving licence was issued outside the EU/EEA, you will also need an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued in your home country. The IDP must be presented alongside your original licence — it is not valid on its own.

If you don't have the required documents at handover, we may be unable to release the vehicle. No refund will be issued for undocumented drivers.

Minimum driver age

Minimum age requirements vary by vehicle category. These are indicated on each vehicle listing. Drivers under the minimum age for a given category will not be permitted to rent it.
